Did you know that the Chinese name for peonies is 'sho yu' which means 'most beautiful'? Very apt.

The Ancient Greeks appreciated their beauty too but also treasured their medicinal powers - they believed they could cure over 20 ailments.

Today, these pretty flowers are symbols of luxury and indulgence. Unfortunately, they are only available between April and June.
